From Underdog to “Trophy Collector” - A Journey Beyond Victory
What inspired you to participate in Creative Force’s internal activities and earn the title of “trophy collector”?
At first, I joined just for fun, nothing too serious. But once I started competing, I quickly realized that the real excitement was not just in participating but in the thrill of competition. I enjoyed learning from my losses and sharing laughter with my colleagues.
After a few unsuccessful attempts, my coworkers jokingly called me “The Most Hated Man at Creative Force.” Not because I was a bad sport, but because I never stopped talking about winning, even when I was losing. badly. Picture this: I am down 9-2 in a foosball match, yet I am still confidently predicting my victory. It was hilarious.
Strangely enough, all the teasing fueled my motivation to improve. As my idol, Cristiano Ronaldo, once said, “Your love makes me strong, your hate makes me unstoppable.” And just like that, I went from someone who joined for fun to someone who refused to walk away without giving it my all.
Out of all your victories, is there one that stands out the most? What made it so special?
Every win has its own story, but if I had to choose the most memorable one, it would be the time I, a non-swimmer, crossed the finish line first in a relay swimming competition.
Sounds crazy, right? But this victory was not about individual skill it was all about strategy. Our team knew that the key to winning was not just swimming fast but managing psychological pressure. Instead of saving our best swimmers for last, we went with a lineup of strong swimmers first, followed by decent swimmers, and finally, non-swimmers. Meanwhile, our opponents kept their two best swimmers for the final laps.
That decision made all the difference. By the time my turn came, our team had built a solid lead, while the opposing team was under pressure to catch up. So when I powered through the water with everything I had, my competitor though much faster could not close the gap in time. We won by just a few seconds.
That victory taught me something valuable: winning is not always about being the strongest. Sometimes, it is about playing the game smarter. The best part? Both teams celebrated together, exchanged medals, and later enjoyed a party at the office.
How has Creative Force’s company culture influenced the way you participate in and enjoy internal activities?
Creative Force has an amazing culture where participation is encouraged, but winning is not everything.
I never feel pressured to compete. I do it because it is fun. Whether it is an intense match, an unexpected comeback, or even a hilarious loss, every moment is worth it. These activities are not just for entertainment; they are opportunities to connect with my colleagues in ways not possible through meetings or email. These events go beyond just playing games. They are about teamwork, resilience, and sometimes, a bit of strategic trash talk.
If you could choose a new challenge for future internal activities, what would it be?
I would love to see more strategic and physically engaging competitions like chess tournaments, a Creative Force version of “Road to Mount Olympus,” or even a push-up challenge.
A mix of brains and brawn would make things even more exciting!
Any advice for colleagues who want to join internal activities and win like you?
My advice is simple: just go for it. Do not overthink it. Do not tell yourself you are not good enough. If you never step into the game, you will never know how far you can go.
And if you are lucky enough to be on my team? Well, let’s just say there is a good chance you will be holding a trophy at the end.
For those who have never participated before take the leap. I promise you will not regret it.
Do you plan on winning more trophies in the future?
I do not chase trophies… they just seem to chase me!
But yes, of course I am not stopping anytime soon. Because at the end of the day, what I love most is not just winning, but playing hard, having fun, and making unforgettable memories with an incredible team.
